Just looking back at early Disney is enough to see that Disney was anti-semantic. Many early comics and cartoons were very racist and even some of our favorites glorify stereotypes. I remember seeing an older cartoon were pretty much the joke of it was hating and beating up on a gay guy :/

I remember seeing an older cartoon were pretty much the joke of it was hating and beating up on a gay guy :/ That's just sad! Last night I watched this program that was called Secret Lives and it was an episode about Walt, damn he was kind of a bastard when he was alive! It just shocks me but you do make a few good points, it's just sad because so many people don't think or even realize this side to the man. In fact, there was an animator strike during Disney's early career with his studio and his brother was level headed enough to handle it but he had to send Walt on a vacation in order to fix the mess. God damn, and to think that Jazzie practically glorifies the man, it makes me wonder if she's even aware of this side of him? It's just disappointing the type of guy he was when he was alive.

I never brought it up to her about what I thought about Walt, but she either doesn't know or doesn't believe it. A lot of fans refuse to, even though it's pretty much fact and it's not really odd for a man of his time to be like that. But just because the creator was kind of a dick (I mean, even the thing that got him famous was a rip from a friend aka Micky being ripped from Oswald) doesn't mean that the company is like that now. He's long dead and Disney, while never being able to clean they're name from him, has moved on. He gave us great things, despite being a not-so-great person.

Yeah, I saw videos like that too on Youtube where fans are claiming that all of what they said were lies but there is even footage of him talking about the whole issue of people being afraid of communism in the U.S. and he was pretty open about that issue too. If she doesn't believe it well then that's kind of unfortunate but if she's unaware then it's like they said, ignorance is bliss. I remember how I felt in relation to the creator of TMNT hating on Venus, the only female ninja turtle and it did basically screw me up. I've even distanced myself away from the fandom but despite that, the characters he did bring to life including Raphael I still adore to this day. You are right though, Disney did give us wonderful things and if the company has moved on then that is good. They've shown in their more recean films that they are improving upon their image and where they stand.

I'm sure that we've heard by now the results of Casey Anthony's trial and I honestly feel that the justice system officialy failed us because of her verdict, while I wouldn't agree with her getting the death penalty, life in prison is what I feel that this woman deserved. Anyone else have an opinion on the matter?

Anyone else have an opinion on the matter? I gave my opinion on WoC, but I agree. It's obvious that she did it, but the prosecution failed and I think the jury just didn't care. Or maybe they saw something we didn't, but from everything I've read, all evidence that is there point to her. She's just not a mourning mother and I believe she killed the child just to get her out of the way. And our justice system sucks. There is a film, you can find it on Netflix, called Dear Zachary. It's a perfect example of how fucked the justice system is and how we need to change that. Why do murders sometimes get off free, but someone who commits a petty crime usually serves 10-15 years. You can rape someone or attempt to rape a minor and either get a couple months-a couple years. But you get caught selling pot, something that's nearly legal, and you get the bars shut behind you for a decade.

Yeah, the prosecution did botch it up but if he wouldn't have tried to go for her getting the death penelty and instead would have gone for her sentence to be life in prison, I think she would have lost the case. It's not too unusual for people to be more willing to give a man the death penalty than a woman, it's human nature after all.
It's true, I don't understand at all how something small gets you who knows how many years but murder and other more serious crimes seem to be of a lesser charge. I can say this, due to how much she is hated, she actually would have been safer inside the prison than outside of it because she's going to be a target once she's released next week on wednesday.

Well, I think that they were just reluctant about the death penalty because there is no hard evidence and no one wants that on their minds.
She's already getting death threats. If you think about it, she'd be smarter to stay in prison. Her parents aren't going to take her back in and I don't think anyone would rent to her or help her.

Already getting death threats and she hasn't been released yet, well, yeah, it's going to be very interesting of what she's going to do next then. Even if she were to move out of the state of Florida, it doesn't change the fact that she probably won't be welcome no matter where she goes. She might even be safer outside the U.S.

I've actually heard that she got a ton of money by selling all of her daughter's pictures and videos (the ones we've been seeing) to the media. God, talk about scum.

Oh my god, that's just disgusting, what's next? Getting her a signed book deal or even her own reality tv show?! Scum isn't even a good enough word to describe her!

Not just her, but the people wanting to give her millions just so they can bank on the story too. A lot of worried that she'll sell her story, which she most likely will, for a fortune.

Well, if she would have been convicted then she wouldn't be allowed but since according to our justice system, she can if she wants to. It doesn't make it right but something tells me that if this woman tries the stunt of writing a book, it won't do well because I would hope that people would be better than that to buy anything of hers.

Actually, there's a very good chance that the nation will have moved on by the time any book is written and published. In a year, everyone will be like "Casey Who?".

While it may seem like that, I'm sure that it will be something that will be in the back of the average person's mind. For certain this whole case will be fuel for any comedians to take a crack at our justice system so it won't be somethat that will be forgotten that easily.
