That was a beautiful song as I would expect from the talented Elton John. That is the sad thing about some laws like that, it takes a life to be lost for some things to happen unfortunately. I told my mother about Caylee's law and she's glad to see it pass but as a mother, she said that she doesn't understand what a two year old could do to where she was killed. I think alot of mothers feel that way about this whole situation.

What I can't really understand about the law is that I think that 48 is still a veeeeeeeeery long time to not report your child missing. I guess it's made that way for parents of older teens who are still technically by law children. I think there should be some kind of definition of age.

Actually, when you file a missing person's report, the police won't start investigating until it's been about 48 hours, this is done as standard so that's probably why they put that type of restriction on it like that.

Wow, you would think they would make exceptions for, lets say, toddlers and babies gone missing. But I guess they can't jumped the gun only to find out that the kid is with an grandparent or other relative.

Okay, I just asked my mom, I was slightly off on my information, if it's a child then police will file a missing person's report right away but if that child gets over a certain age then it goes back to the 48 hours restriction actually.
